According to MIBOR (Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of REALTORS), median sale prices for Hamilton County homes saw an increase during the first quarter of 2011. 


Even though this is good news for Indianapolis-area real estate, there is still more room to grow compared to last years averages.&nbsp; The first three months of 2011 saw median sale prices rise to $185,000, which was a 3.6 percent increase from the previous quarter.

Home construction remained&nbsp;in a historic slump in central Indiana in 2010, showing only slight improvement over 2009, according to the latest permit data from the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis.Building permits filed for new homes in the nine-county Indianapolis area rose just 2.6 percent in 2010, to 3,720. Thats just 95 more homes than in 2009&mdash;the worst year for local home construction in more than a quarter century.
